The East Kyushu Basque Initiative Nobeoka Promotion Council (Chairman: Yomitanzan Yoji, Mayor of Nobeoka City), which is working to attract visitors from outside the city by using Nobeoka's attractive "food" as a keyword, held an event called "FOOD TRIP x NOBEOKA - Traveling Nobeoka by the Table" in Marunouchi, Tokyo on Wednesday, January 29th, to promote the city's initiatives, as well as offer tastings of dishes made with Nobeoka ingredients, and provide tourist information about the city.
Approximately 80 guests were invited to the event, including influencers, media, and travel industry representatives, with a focus on people who are unfamiliar with or have never visited Nobeoka City. Chefs from the city, Yoshimura Cuisine (Nakamachi), KANAYA (Tottoromachi), and Matsunozushi (Agatamachi), participated and served dishes made with ingredients from Nobeoka, paired with local sake from Sanzo. In addition, there were events to help people get to know Nobeoka, such as a crossword puzzle related to Nobeoka and a promotional booth with tourist information.
Yomitanzan Chairman said, "Nobeoka City is a city of cutting-edge science and technology, and as a result of the diverse people who come and go, it has developed a fascinating food culture created by its rich ingredients and chefs. Please become a fan."
