These fishermen operate off the coast of Nobeoka City, setting up large fixed nets licensed by the prefectural governor and landing their catches. Their fishing method allows them to land a wide variety of fish alive at once, throughout the seasons. They further enhance the freshness of their wild fish by immediately killing the fish on board and then chilling them in special seawater ice.
