Junko Sato maintains a tea plantation at the foot of Mukabakiyama, a family business passed down from her grandfather. The name of the tea plantation, "Calm," means gentleness and tranquility. The tea plants grow vibrantly and freely. You're sure to feel refreshed in both body and mind with its gentle sweetness and rich umami flavor. With a radiant smile, she told us that her dream is to one day build a gazebo here and let people drink the tea grown here. Ms. Sato also cultivates buckwheat in partnership with local businesses. You can enjoy her buckwheat noodles at "Nakayama-tei Shin'o Soba," a handmade buckwheat noodle restaurant in Onuki-cho.
